1968-1979 The True Living Proof

The book begins with Hank describing the mountain tracks ahead with him, his climbing buddy, and hid buddy's son. He breaks the climb, the accident, and his recovery in to parts that bookends chapters in his life. Hank goes on to say his thoughts about his dad Hank Williams SR. From his impact on the music world and ultimately his darker half. He dives into the love/hate Sr had with Audry Williams that carried over to Sr's 2nd marriage. Hank carries on through his early days under Sr's shadow. Growing up and his experiences as a kid in a grown ups world. With Hank going into graphic detail on his first time with a women. Hank tells bus stories, times where money was up and down, and how he meet and divorced all his wives up to 1979. The meanings and stories behind his early songs. Finally he digs into how his music evolved from the teary eyed steel guitar days of old, defying the Nashville elite saying his new way doesn't belong in country music, into the country, rock, folk, blues, and boogie woogie fusion that rules country radio waves until this very day.

It is not the best written one I've ever read

I tend to prefer autobiographies over someone else trying to tell the story. It is not the best written one I've ever read, but I did enjoy it nonetheless. I'm a huge Hank Jr. fan so maybe I'm being partial. The book centers around the horrific accident that changed his life, and his strength and will to survive was inspiring.
